Painting workshop for children in 2022

In partnership with the local artist, Katharine Alecse, Alba Eglesia hosted weekly painting workshops for the children from Viscri. These workshops were designed with the aim of exposing children to art and enhancing their innate curiosity and creativity.

During the summer break of 2022, children of all ages came to Katharine’s studio to learn the basics of painting. Children were taught about the elements of an artwork, colour mixing and application, lines and shapes, symmetry, materials used to sketch and draw, brushwork and much more. At the end of each lesson, children were encouraged to practice by themselves under the supervision of the artist.

The foundation hopes to continue this series of arts workshops and thus provide children from Viscri with an opportunity to learn about art and to explore their creativity and the wonderful world of art alongside various resident artists.
