Painting Workshop in June 2023 with the children from the Educational Centre

On 7th of June, 2023, Alba Eglesia Foundation organised a painting workshop for the children of Viscri with the artist Katharine Alecse. The location of the workshop was the hill in front of the Saxon Fortified Church. For this particular workshop, children had to paint the whole scenery by using only primary colours: red, yellow and blue.

At first, the artist Katharine explained to the children what is the order for combining the colours in order to obtain other colours. The second step was the design of the basic structure of the painting. The third step was adding the other elements of the scenery and balancing all of the elements on the canvas.

At the end of the workshop, children were invited to choose the best painting in their opinion and to explain why they had chosen that specific painting.

Throughout the workshop, the children also received tips and tricks from the artist on how to be creative when painting elements they see in front of them while keeping a realistic shape of the elements they like to paint.

The foundation hopes to continue this series of arts workshops and thus to provide children from Viscri with an opportunity to learn about art and to explore their creativity and the world of art alongside the local artists living in Viscri and resident artists.
